Reach your health and training goals
with Acupuncture and Remedial Therapies
Does chronic pain prevent you from living your life to the fullest?
Whether it is a sore and stiff neck from a stressful job or
that old knee injury that prevents you from reaching your PB,
we understand your need to perform in your sport and at work and
can help you manage weaknesses and problem areas which commonly arise.
We strongly believe in the value of an active lifestyle for a healthy body and mind and have been supporting working professionals and athletes in reaching their personal health and performance goals for over 10 years.
Being part of the passionate powerlifting community at Fortitude Barbell,
we have a special interest in
physical performance and pain management.
Our skills translate to the treatment of issues arising from work related overuse and postural issues emerging in home office and corporate work environments.
Cupping is an ancient technique of using cups to apply suction to the tissues. This is a great way to stretch out the fascia, increase the local circulation and loosen tight muscles.
At Bowen Hills Acupuncture and Remedial Therapies, we apply acupuncture according to the principles of traditional Chinese medicine and modern anatomical theory. Ken is a registered acupuncturist and has also trained in motor point acupuncture and trigger point dry needling.
Ken has a Cert IV in Anmo Tuina traditional Chinese remedial massage and has over 10 years experience using manual therapy to relieve tension and pain. To achieve the best outcomes in our remedial therapies, we integrate the use of modern devices such as massage guns.
Bowen Hills Acupuncture and Remedial Therapies Modalities
At our acupuncture clinic in Brisbane, we blend in Chinese medicine acupuncture with remedial massage therapy. With a special focus on trigger point release in musculoskeletal conditions, we integrate the use of electrostimulation (electroacupuncture), massage gun therapy, cupping and guasha.
Making a difference.
We love to think out of the box and are always keen to explore new techniques. In 2021, Ken is completing a 12-month course in professional massage gun therapy.
Our 60min treatments are active working sessions, during which you are changing your posture at multiple times, including active, resisted and unresisted stretching, trigger point therapy etc.
Ken is a AHPRA-registered health professional with a 4-year degree in acupuncture and over 10 years of work experience. We are passionate about continued professional education.
Ken runs one treatment room at a time. During your treatment session, our time is exclusively dedicated to you as an individual, your
health concerns and personal goals.
Our treatment goal is to identify and work on the underlying issues, such as referring trigger points, postural issues and muscular imbalances to provide longer lasting results.
